Less brightness, more warmth

A low-pass filter lets low frequencies through and turns down the high ones. Lower its cutoff and a bright, buzzy sound turns warm and distant.

The line is what gets through. The bars behind it are the sound itself, low frequencies on the left: watch the right side fall as you close the filter.
