Check the work.
The co-producer says it doubled the hats. Look at the hat row. It did, and you can see exactly where.

Take it apart.
Its change is made of the same pads and blocks you use. Remove one piece and hear what that piece was doing.

Because you saw how it was done, you can. That is the difference between a tool that helps and a tool that replaces.
Why we built it this way.
The easy design is a generator: a prompt in, audio out, and a model that does whatever it does in between. It is easy because nothing has to be explained and nothing has to be undone. It is a black box because it has to be.
We wanted an instrument, and an instrument has to be understood by the person playing it. So the assistant got the same controls as the person and no others. Everything it does is recorded as operations you could read, and every turn is one undo. It is slower to build and easier to trust.
Questions people ask
Can the assistant do anything I cannot?
No. It edits through the same operations the buttons use. It is faster and it knows more music than most beginners, but it has no private controls.
Can I see what it did, step by step?
Its turn is one step in the project's history, and its reply names the changes. The changes themselves are on the grid and in the blocks, where you can inspect each one.
Does it generate audio?
No. Nothing here is generated from text. The sounds are instruments you shape, and the notes are pads you can see.
Is my music used to train anything?
No. We do not use your music, your projects or your prompts to train AI models. What you make is yours, and it stays private until you share it.
