Suno is the best known AI music generator. You describe a song, pick a style, and a minute later there is a track with vocals, instruments and a mix, ready to download. It is remarkable, it is popular, and if what you want is a finished song for a video or a laugh, it is very hard to beat.
It is also not an instrument. You cannot open the drums and move the snare. You cannot see why the chorus lifts. When something is almost right, the answer is another prompt and another generation, and the credits run down. Suno's own answer to this is Suno Studio, a timeline editor on its most expensive plan, where you can arrange and edit what was generated.
This instrument starts from the other end. Nothing is generated for you. You get a beat on a grid, a bassline and chords that stay in key, and a co-producer that changes your project when you ask, using the same operations the buttons use, explaining each change, and undoable in one press. It is slower to a finished song and faster to knowing what you are doing.

No. Suno generates finished songs from a prompt. This is an instrument: you make the music on a grid with blocks, and a co-producer helps you change it and explains what it changed. Nothing is generated for you.
Suno is free for 50 credits a day without downloads, then $10 a month for Pro and $30 a month for Premier, or less billed yearly. On Suno's paid plans you get commercial rights to what you generate; on its free plan the songs are for personal use only. Here you own what you make on every plan, free included, and we claim no rights to it.
You can import the audio and slice it, the way you would any sample, and build something new around it. You cannot open the generated song's notes, because Suno does not give you notes; it gives you audio.
Suno is not trying to. This instrument is: notes stay in key so you cannot play a wrong one, every musical word explains itself when you point at it, and the co-producer says why each change works.
